This was called “The Error Dial” because of the separate markings for London and GMT, it was long thought to be a manufacturing error by Seiko. This was an accurate depiction, by Seiko, of the experiment by British Prime Minister Harold Wilson to move London off of GMT by creating a new BST, or British Standard Time. This never really worked and he quickly reverted back to GMT, the name “The Error Dial” persists.
Please note: The dial currently on the watch is aftermarket. The original dial, pictured in the gallery, will be sent with the watch.
