Service Department

Services we offer: –

We offer servicing for most Seiko watches.
This includes both mechanical and quartz variations from 1960 to 2014.

Seiko (UK) will generally service watches less than 10 years old. Please contact Seiko Servicing, for more information.

Full disassembly and service:

Service prices are movement specific for auto / mechanicals, quartz and manual wind watches and excludes required parts and postage.
Our service includes:

A full disassembly, with every component being examined to try and ensure future operation.
Service and clean (chemical and ultrasonic, if required)
Rebuild and functionality test (Using only the finest lubricants)
A check and adjustment on a Seiko timegrapher, to ensure the best accuracy possible.
Crown / stem, pusher and case back gaskets. (Excluding crowns with internal gaskets and bezel gaskets *)
A new battery, if applicable.
An ultrasonic clean of the case and bracelet, if applicable. (Some cases are excluded, depending on their construction *)

We will provide you with an estimate before any work commences, if additional parts are required.
If you decide not to go ahead, there is just a £25 assessment charge plus £11.00 postage (UK, Postage outside the UK will vary depending on location).
If no parts are required or required parts are circa 20% of the service cost, we would just go ahead without further customer consultation and the price of the parts will be added to the final invoice.

Please note: Crystals (Watch glasses) are additional and are not included in a service price.
If the crystal is heavily scratched or damaged, we will replace it in order to ensure water resistance integrity. If this service is not wanted, customers must inform us prior to booking or in the information letter which is requested to be sent with the watch.
Although we have an extensive range of crystals, some original Seiko crystals are no longer available and a suitable replacement will be used. *

Repair:

For repairs or other requested work, our minimum charge is £90 plus parts and postage.
This includes the Seiko Kinetic \ Solar range, which just require a new capacitor. (Capacitor included).
Please note that this is NOT a service just a component replacement\repair only.

Assessment:

We offer an assessment service for £25 and if you do not wish to go ahead, the cost is the assessment charge, plus the postage cost to return your watch.
If you do go ahead, the assessment charge is free.
This service is only offered if the watch is booked in for a repair or a full service.
If the result of the assessment revels that no additional parts are required, the repair or the full service will be performed, usually without further customer consultation.

Additional:

At the time of a service or repair, we also offer a hand relume service (we do not relume dials).
The cost is watch and lume colour specific.
We can also offer a limited pressure test (up to 6 bar or 60 meters water depth equivalent), depending on the age, case type and condition of the watch.

Pressure tests confirm that the watch passed a water resistance test to the rated depth at the time of testing. While this provides assurance that all seals and gaskets are functioning correctly, water resistance is not permanent and may diminish over time. For continued protection, especially if the watch is exposed to water regularly, we recommend re-testing annually or after any case opening or impact.

Service guarantee:

All serviced watches have a 6 month return to base guarantee.
The guarantee covers the parts and labour costs associated with the replacement parts we have provided.
The guarantee does not cover the failure of any further parts, or the associated labour costs.

Services we do not offer:

Dial, case refurbishment and strap/bracelet repair or valuations.
We can offer a very light sympathetic polish of the cases (finish dependant), in order to return some of the original lustre, at the time of a service.

Further Information:

For overseas requests: we are currently in the process of renewing our temporary import licence, in order to remove import duties on watches we receive for service and repair. Please contact us for special arrangements.

U.K postage is currently £11.00 insured up to £750, Royal Mail next day special delivery.
Postage charges for other countries vary by location.
